Applications for these facilities under City ordinance O-2010-01, as of July 1, 2010, are no longer being accepted.

The issue of medical marijuana caregiver facilities is rapidly evolving in Colorado, and Lakewood is no exception. On Feb. 8, 2010, Lakewood City Council adopted an ordinance that establishes a licensing program for medical marijuana caregiver facilities and amends the zoning regulations to identify the zone districts in which such businesses can locate. The ordinance became effective March 28, 2010.

However, applicable state laws have changed. Lakewood's existing medical marijuana ordinance will be reconciled with applicable state laws, rules and regulations.
